JOHOR BARU: Another incident of the national flag being displayed upside down has surfaced — this time at a private dental clinic in Pontian.

A 33-second video circulating online shows the Jalur Gemilang mounted in reverse on the second floor of a three-storey shoplot housing the clinic.

It was placed on a glass door next to the Johor state flag, which was displayed correctly.

Several policemen and members of the public were also seen at the scene, while the clinic appeared closed with its main doors shut.

The incident drew strong reactions from netizens, many of whom criticised the act as disrespectful to the national flag, while others blamed the lack of stern action for the recurrence of such cases.

Pontian deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Abd Hamid Abd Rahaman is expected to issue a statement on the matter.

On Sunday, police in Segamat launched an investigation after the Johor state flag was found hoisted upside down on a hotel building along Jalan Syed Abdul Kadir.

Segamat police chief Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said two hotel employees, including a foreign worker, were questioned and the incident was determined to be an error.
