PETALING JAYA:

The leadership has appointed former Supreme Council member Annuar Musa as a member of its central working committee.

In a statement, president Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision to appoint Annuar and 10 others was made in line with the party constitution.

Earlier, 18 people were elected to the committee at the 71st muktamar held in Alor Setar yesterday.

The newly appointed members include Perlis menteri besar Shukri Ramli and lawyer Wan Rohimi Wan Daud.

The others include Dr Rosni Adam, Misbahul Munir Masduki, Najihatussalehah Ahmad, Bakri Jamaluddin, Yusni Piah, Ahmad Yunus Hairi, Mazri Yahya and Razman Zakaria.

Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, who secured the most votes in the central committee election, remains the party information chief.

Takiyuddin Hassan and Iskandar Abdul Samad were reappointed as secretary-general and treasurer respectively.

The appointments were made at a central committee meeting held immediately after the muktamar ended today.
