LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County opened its 10th annual Dino Fest on Sunday, drawing dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages with rare fossil exhibits, interactive activities and talks with leading paleontologists.

The event, which has become a signature celebration for the museum, highlights the world-renowned Dinosaur Hall, its famed Tyrannosaurus rex growth series, as well as rare fossils from the Cretaceous era.

Visitors can also explore the link between ancient dinosaurs and their modern descendants — birds — through hands-on demonstrations and educational programs.

Founded more than a century ago, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County holds more than 12 million specimens, the largest paleontology collection on the U.S. West Coast.
