KUALA LUMPUR: Swimmer Andrew Goh became the first Malaysian to win a medal in the 50m breaststroke in 10 years after touching the wall for silver at the Thailand Sea Games today.
The 21-year-old, who was last year’s Sarawak Malaysia Games Sportsman, recorded a time of 27.96s, just 0.32s behind Singapore’s Chan Chun Ho (27.68s), while defending champion Felix Viktor Iberle (28.02s) from Indonesia rounded up the podium.
The last Malaysian to grab a medal in the event was Wong Fu Kang at the 2015 Singapore Games, where he won bronze.
