An aide to Amirudin Shari says the Selangor menteri besar engages Barisan Nasional leaders in the state consistently, contrary to claims of limited communication between representatives from Pakatan Harapan and BN.
Jay Jay Denis said that as Selangor PH chairman, Amirudin was consistently in touch with his BN counterpart, Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, and BN‘s representative in the state executive council, Rizam Ismail.
“Amirudin also has frequent meetings with leaders from all parties in the unity government in Selangor in his visits across the nine districts in the state,” Jay Jay told FMT.
He pointed out that the unity government in Selangor comprised representatives from the two coalitions, despite 90% of assemblymen in Selangor being from PH.
On Sunday, Selangor MIC chairman Shanker Raj Ayengar claimed that Amirudin had had “limited dialogue” with state leaders after an initial meeting.
He said this when asked about ties with the PH-led state government.
In May, Selangor PH information chief Abbas Azmi described the coalition’s ties with Selangor BN as “stable”.
He attributed the cordial ties between PH and BN to its success in managing differences and its priorities.
“If there is any dissatisfaction it is resolved at the negotiation table instead of making public statements that can spark controversy,” he had said.
