SHAH ALAM: Parti Amanah (Amanah) is studying whether to postpone the party’s top leadership election, which is supposed to be held next year, said party president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

He stated that there is a provision in the party’s constitution that allows for the postponement of the election, and the matter will be thoroughly discussed at the party’s upcoming national-level meeting.

“Between those two (postpone or proceed with the election), we will discuss it because we also need to look at the election mood,” he said when met after the winding-up session of the Amanah National Convention 2025 here today.

Earlier, the media reported that the motion regarding the party election scheduled for next year was among the issues that drew attention on the second day of the convention here, with the atmosphere becoming slightly tense when several delegates urged that the motion be debated immediately.
