Joachim Gunsalam announced this at the annual meeting of Parti Bersatu Sabah’s (PBS) Telupid division, The Borneo Post reported.

Gunsalam, who is acting president of PBS, urged members to support division chief Jonnybone Kurum for re-election to the Telupid state assembly seat.

He said the GRS government is capable of guaranteeing political stability in Sabah as it comprises eight local parties that place priority on the state’s development. This stability has been a key driver of economic growth since GRS assumed leadership of the state, said Gunsalam, who is state minister of local government and housing.

GRS holds 42 seats in the 79-member state assembly, of which PBS holds seven seats. The current state assembly’s five-year term expires on Nov 11, unless dissolved earlier to pave the way for fresh elections.
