Barisan Nasional candidate Yusri Bakir is believed to have been elected to the state assembly seat in today’s by-election.
PETALING JAYA:

Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh has declared victory for Barisan Nasional in the Ayer Kuning by-election in Perak.

“The silent majority has spoken,” he said in a Facebook post thanking the coalition’s machinery for helping retain the state assembly seat in a three-cornered fight.

Unofficial results show the candidate Yusri Bakir has obtained 10,034 votes for a majority of 4,619 against Perikatan Nasional’s Abd Muhaimin Malek of (5,415 votes) and KS Bawani of Parti Socialis Malaysia (948 votes).
