KUANTAN: Thousands of enthusiastic visitors braved the sweltering sun to get up close with the nation’s military assets at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base here today.
The air base buzzed with excitement as people of all ages gathered to witness the impressive Static Combat Parade and the thrilling Dynamic Demonstration, held in conjunction with the 92nd Malaysian Armed Forces Day celebration.
The highlight of the two-day event, which ends tomorrow, was a specially curated dynamic demonstration showcasing the synergy and capabilities of the armed forces’ assets through a joint special operation codenamed ‘Op Benteng Kedaulatan’.
The 30-minute spectacle featured assets from all three branches of the armed forces – army, navy, and air force – along with Special Forces units.
Spectators were left in awe as loud explosions, low-flying helicopters, and roaring fighter jets brought the simulated operation to life.
Visitors came prepared with folding chairs, sun hats, and mats as they strolled around the base, while photography enthusiasts, equipped with camera lenses of various sizes, sought the perfect points to capture the rare moments of the airshow flybys.
Youth thronged recruitment booths offering career opportunities in the armed forces, where officers were on hand to provide detailed insights into military duties and responsibilities.
The carnival also offered visitors the chance to win over 100 attractive lucky draw prizes, including motorcycles, smart TVs, and electrical appliances.
A drizzle in the evening did little to dampen spirits, as the crowd stayed on eagerly to witness another round of spectacular aerial performances during the launch of the Civil-Military Cooperation Carnival 2025 by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, held in conjunction with the open-day event.
