KUALA LUMPUR: 99 Speed Mart Retail Holdings Bhd has confirmed the establishment of its first store in China, marking the mini-mart operator’s maiden overseas entry.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said its debut outlet in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, was opened on Aug 31.
“The company will also set up prototype outlets with plans to progressively expand within Fuzhou,” the group said.
It added that the establishment of the store is not expected to have a material impact on the group’s earnings or net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025.
The clarification follows reports in Sin Chew Daily and Oriental Daily News regarding 99 Speed Mart’s expansion into the Chinese market.
