Police have arrested nine youths between 17 and 21 in age in connection with a viral video showing some 20 motorcyclists surrounding and kicking a Perodua Myvi near the Batu 13 toll plaza in Puchong.
Serdang police chief Farid Ahmad said the suspects were picked up in Puchong and Shah Alam, and that three motorcycles were seized.
“The suspects will be brought to the Petaling Jaya magistrates’ court this morning for a remand order,” he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, Farid said police were searching for the motorcyclists after the incident was reported by the 52-year-old Myvi driver at a police station at about 10pm.
The 29-second clip shows the motorcyclists closing in on both sides of the Myvi, and one rider punching the driver’s window and kicking the car door, causing a side mirror to shatter.
