BUKIT MERTAJAM: The Mega iLINDUNGu Festival has so far collected RM251,393.50 from 466 employers under the interest on late payment of contributions (FCLB) programme’s discounts on outstanding employee contributions.

Human Resources Minister Steven Sim said the initiative allows employers to settle arrears with discounts of up to 80 per cent, creating a win-win situation for both employers and workers.

He said the figure was achieved during a three-day event previously held in Shah Alam, .

“According to the statistics, the total FCLB for all these employers amounted to RM2.08 million, but after applying the discount, the payment required was around RM416,000.

“To date, we have successfully collected RM251,393.50 from 466 employers, while the remainder is in the process of being paid within the stipulated period,” he told reporters after visiting Mega iLINDUNGu Festival here today.

He said the initiative encourages employers to make timely contributions, ensuring social security protection for workers under the LINDUNG scheme.

Following the success of the first edition in Shah Alam, the festival continues to offer contribution review services, LINDUNG scheme registration, advisory counters, interview sessions, health screenings, e-sports competitions, cultural performances, and more.

Steven Sim said that while FCLB discounts are normally offered in April, the festival demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to ensuring no worker in Malaysia is left behind or unprotected.

The Mega iLINDUNGu Festival @ Penang also features the MYFutureJobs LINDUNG Career Carnival, offering more than 2,000 job opportunities from 20 employers.
