ALOR STAR: Seven rivers in the state have surpassed the danger level following continuous rainfall today.
According to the Flood Public Info page, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) reported that the rivers affected are located in the districts of Sik, Yan, Baling, Pendang, and Bandar Baharu. All of these rivers are showing an upward trend.
Meanwhile, social media monitoring indicates that several areas in the state, including Kodiang and Changlun in Kubang Pasu, as well as parts of Kulim, Pendang, and Sik, have already been affected by rising waters.
Videos shared by residents on social media show flooding in their areas, though the situation remains under control.
Rescue teams, including the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and the Kedah Civil Defence Force (APM), are reportedly on standby and conducting monitoring at the affected locations.
