Four rubber tappers have been remanded for seven days in connection with the murder of a man who was found floating in Sungai Kelantan, Kota Bharu, with cuts on his neck.
The men, in their 40s and 50s, were arrested by police at several locations in Terian, Pahang, last night to assist in the murder investigation.
The Kota Bharu magistrates’ court granted the police’s application to remand the suspects until Sept 9, Berita Harian reported.
The victim was found floating in Sungai Kelantan near the Sultan Yahya Petra bridge last week, dressed in a purple collared T-shirt and brown khaki shorts with a belt.
A post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was wounds to the neck, leading to a murder investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
