ALOR STAR: Three more police reports have been lodged against a male teacher arrested recently in connection with a sexual harassment case involving current and former students of a private secondary school here.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad the reports were lodged over the past several days.
However, she said police have yet to re-arrest the 34-year-old suspect who was released on bail recently, pending an order to investigate (OTI).
“We have received three additional reports, bringing the total number of police reports lodged against the teacher to five,” she said in a statement today.
On Tuesday, police remanded the teacher after two reports were lodged by a 15-year-old student and a 25-year-old former student, both alleging sexual harassment by the suspect.
Salawati said the complaints alleged that they had received lewd messages from the same teacher, including requests for nude photographs and solicitations for sex.
It was reported that the private secondary school where the teacher works has terminated his employment following police reports filed by the alleged victims.
SM Keat Hwa school board secretary Ng Koh Weng said the decision was made during an emergency meeting convened following the teacher’s arrest on Saturday.
