
A mild earthquake shook Segamat, Johor, this morning – the third in as many days.
The meteorological department (MetMalaysia) said the 3.4-magnitude quake occurred at around 4.24am, about 12km northeast of Segamat at a depth of 10km.
“Tremors were felt in Johor. The department is continuing to monitor the situation,” it said in a post on X.
Segamat recorded a 2.5-magnitude earthquake last night and a 3.2-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday.
Two earthquakes were reported in Segamat and Kluang on Sunday.
The first earthquake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck Segamat at 6.13am.
A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was later detected in Kluang at around 9am.
Tremors were felt in several parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Pahang, with some property owners reporting damage.
