The Kajang sessions court ordered the two 13-year-old boys to be on good behaviour for a year after they pleaded guilty.
PETALING JAYA:

Two 13-year-old boys were today ordered by the Kajang sessions court to be placed on a one-year good behaviour bond for slapping their classmate at a shopping mall two months ago.

Their lawyer, Lee Tee Kiat, said judge Fatin Dayana Jalil made the order after reviewing probationary reports submitted by the social welfare department, Bernama reported.

“The court also maintained the RM500 bail imposed on each student,” he was quoted as saying after the proceedings.

The minors, accompanied by their parents, faced the hearing in camera.

They had pleaded guilty on Aug 8 to behaving indecently by slapping their 13-year-old classmate in a public place, thereby disturbing the peace at the shopping mall in Kajang at 11am on July 30.

The two were jointly charged under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Syafiq Zulbahrin.
