TEMERLOH: A road access issue raised directly with the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, during the Kembara Pahang 1.0 programme on April 23 was resolved within just 55 days, underscoring His Royal Highness’ deep concern for the welfare of the rakyat.
The request, made by residents of Kampung Lebak Seberang, involved the construction of a shortcut along Jalan Tenggoh after the existing route was closed four years ago, affecting access for 130 families.
“The residents stopped my car during the Kembara Pahang programme. It turned out to be a blessing, as my family and I were able to witness their situation firsthand and understand the road issue.
“We are thankful the road was completed. It eases connectivity for the residents of Kampung Lebak Seberang,” said Al-Sultan Abdullah during a visit to the completed road today.
Al-Sultan Abdullah said the swift completion was the result of close cooperation between the palace and the state government, driven by a shared commitment to public well-being.
“This should serve as a model and benchmark for the state government. When we truly focus on local issues, solutions can be implemented quickly,” he added.
His Royal Highness also expressed hope that the new road would help strengthen community ties among nearby villages.
The RM116,800 project involved constructing a 193-metre-long, 3.3-metre-wide road. Paving began on June 13 and was completed in just three days.
