ABU DHABI, Sept 18 (Bernama-WAM) — Amazon has launched its first fulfilment centre in Abu Dhabi in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Located in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), the facility is designed to advance logistics and fulfilment capabilities, accelerate delivery speeds and broaden product selection.
With a storage capacity of up to 8 million units, it empowers entrepreneurs and SMEs to scale their businesses online.
The centre leverages Amazon’s advanced automation to enable same-day delivery across a wide range of products, supported by Abu Dhabi Customs’ efficient clearance processes.
Nearly half the site is dedicated to sellers using Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).
Amazon said the facility also houses an Innovation Lab with over 500 tests completed, achieving a 93 per cent success rate and cutting process lead times by 59 per cent.
The lab is equipped with package testing tools, 3D printing systems and ergonomic assessment equipment to support efficiency and customer service.
Vice President of Amazon Middle East, Africa and Turkiye, Ronaldo Mouchawar said the new centre reflected Amazon’s long-term commitment to Abu Dhabi and the UAE, while strengthening the digital economy and empowering local businesses.
