Mercedes-Benz has introduced the updated 2025 Mercedes-Benz S580e with EQ Hybrid Technology to the local market. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) S-Class, which continues to be locally assembled at MBM’s production facility in Pekan, Pahang, now arrives with subtle yet notable upgrades in both design and performance.
In terms of exterior design, the new S580e retains much of its signature look, including the prominent grille, sleek headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and a panoramic sliding sunroof. The only notable change on the outside is the addition of new 20-inch, 10-twin-spoke forged wheels.

Internally, the cabin of the S580e now features a redesigned centre console with black dotted lines and a crystal-look finish. Comfort has also been enhanced with the introduction of three-stage ventilation and heating for the front seats. Integrated fans within the seat cushions and backrests ensure a consistently pleasant seating environment for both the driver and passenger.
Another highlight is the Energising Air Control system, which monitors in-cabin air quality through advanced sensors and displays the data via the MBUX infotainment system. Further, it can automatically switch between fresh-air intake and air-recirculation mode to maintain optimal cabin conditions.
Under the bonnet, the S580e continues to feature EQ Hybrid Technology, pairing a 3.0 litre inline-six petrol engine with an electric motor. Together, they deliver a combined output of 375 kW and 750 Nm of torque, allowing the luxury sedan to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
Performance updates include the addition of rear-axle steering with up to a 4.5 degree angle, to improve both agility and stability. The upgraded 28.6 kWh battery pack now supports DC fast charging at up to 60 kW, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes.

In terms of pricing, the 2025 PHEV Mercedes-Benz S580e has a price tag of RM733,888. The price is inclusive of an 8-year and 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty.
