KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Bernama) — Agrobank today announced a six-month moratorium to assist its customers nationwide who have been affected by the floods, particularly in Sabah.
The assistance includes a deferment of financing repayments for up to six months for eligible customers impacted by the disaster.
Agrobank President and Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said the initiative is in line with the financial institution’s continuous efforts to support affected customer communities.
“We understand the difficulties faced by customers due to the recent floods. Agrobank remains proactive in providing targeted assistance to ease their burden, and we hope this moratorium will provide the support they need during this challenging period,” he said in a statement here today.
He said some customers had suffered damage to property, farms and agricultural activities, directly affecting their income and business continuity.
“Some customers require a temporary deferment in order to focus on restoring their businesses. Therefore, eligible customers may apply for this moratorium facility to rebuild their operations.
“Our officers will also reach out to affected customers to help them navigate this situation,” he added.
