Pantech hit with RM6.76mil capital gains tax


KUALA LUMPUR: Pantech Group Holdings Bhd has been slapped with capital gains tax amounting to RM6.76 million from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) for the year of assessment 2025.

“The board of directors wishes to announce that the company has on Sept 12, 2025, received Notice of Assessments for Capital Gains Tax from the IRB for the year of assessment 2025, amounting to RM 6,759,377.27.

“The company is currently seeking professional advice and intends to initiate a formal appeal to the IRB, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Pantech said it is seeking professional advice and plans to file a formal appeal against the assessment, and will make further announcements as and when there are material developments.
