The Form 3 student who fell from the third floor of his school’s dormitory building in Sabak Bernam nearly a month ago has regained consciousness.
The victim’s uncle, Aidil Mansor, said Ahmad Irfan Ahmad Hanafi was still recovering at Sungai Buloh Hospital but declined to share further details on his condition, Harian Metro reported.
The student fell from the building on Aug 26, prompting a police investigation. The education ministry had said that bullying was one of the factors being considered in its probe.
On Sept 7, police said the investigation paper had been referred to the Selangor prosecution director and that they were awaiting further instructions.
No arrests were made but Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said that several positive leads had been identified based on witness statements.
The case was probed under Section 31(1) of the Child Act for the abuse, neglect or abandonment of a child.
