KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — The police have identified the officer involved in an incident where one of the agency’s vehicles was reportedly seen running a red light, and appropriate action has been taken.

The incident is believed to have occurred at the NSK junction, Jalan Haruan 2, Seremban, at around 12.20am on September 16, according to BuletinTV3.

Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, said the police were aware of a video circulating on social media showing the event.

“The police confirm that an investigation is ongoing and the circumstances of the incident have been identified. Once the investigation is completed, internal action will be taken against those involved,” he said today.

He stressed that all police officers are subject to road traffic regulations, except in specific situations involving emergency duties that require immediate action for safety and operational efficiency.

He added that if the investigation finds a breach of procedure, appropriate action will be taken under the law.

The public has been advised not to speculate or spread unverified information that could cause confusion among the community.

“Members of the public are urged to obtain accurate information only through official PDRM channels and not to share speculation that could affect public order,” he said.

Earlier, a road user was recorded narrowly avoiding a collision with a police vehicle that allegedly ran a red light, but managed to brake in time.
