This post is brought to you by Unifi.
Unifi TV is no longer tied to Unifi Fibre. With the launch of the new Unifi TV 2.0 app, anyone can now download and start watching without a Unifi fibre subscription. To make things sweeter, there’s also a free 30-day trial so you can test it out before committing. But this is a limited-time offer, so you need to be quick.
What about existing Unifi customers?
If you’re already on Unifi, the new app still brings plenty of perks. The trial gives you full access to 73 premium channels and 15 OTT apps for 30 days. Your existing Unifi TV box will also update automatically, so you don’t need to lift a finger.
Once the trial ends, what you can do depends on your contract. If you’re out of contract, you can switch or change packs. If you’re still under contract, you’ll still be able to explore the new options, but they’ll be treated as add-ons to your current plan. For customers who prefer not to change, legacy packs will remain in place with no impact on your existing entitlements.
Where existing customers really see a benefit is in flexibility. Instead of sticking to fixed bundles, you’ll be able to choose individual channels or OTT apps à la carte starting from RM6, tailoring your subscription to what you actually watch.
For non-Unifi users: What’s new
If you don’t have Unifi Fibre at home, you can still get on board with Unifi TV through the app. The free trial gives you access to 19 channels for 30 days, no strings attached. Once that’s over, you can start with the Build-Your-Own Pack, priced at RM16 for a limited time only.
This lets you pick five channels and one Asian streaming app from a curated list and includes 16 free channels, with the option to add on more. What makes this interesting is the flexibility. Instead of being locked into a bundle with dozens of channels you’ll never watch, you can tailor a pack that actually fits your interests.
There’s no hard cap on how many extras you can subscribe to, whether that’s additional channels, more Asian apps, or even the big global streaming platforms. And because Unifi TV brings everything under one roof, you don’t have to juggle multiple accounts or apps just to keep up with your shows.
Why this matters for you

At the end of the day, Unifi TV 2.0 is about choice. For non-subscribers, it opens the door to a flexible, affordable streaming option that doesn’t require fibre. For existing customers, it’s a chance to refresh their packs, take advantage of discounts, and enjoy more options than before.
And for everyone, it means having live TV, Asian streaming, and global OTTs all in one place, without the usual clutter or commitment.
When is it available?
Unifi TV 2.0 officially launches on 13th September. Whether you’re a Unifi customer or not, you can download the app, enjoy the free trial, and build your own entertainment bundle the way you like it. Just sign up with your email address to start your Unifi TV journey.
