KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is no stranger to traffic jams, but this time, the gridlock happened in an unlikely place — on a hiking trail.
A video uploaded by Perlis Hari Ini on Facebook showed a long queue of hikers inching their way up a popular mountain trail during the school holidays.
The clip, captioned “even on the mountain there’s a traffic jam”, has since left thousands of netizens amused.
The footage revealed a line of hikers stretching along the narrow path, with some looking visibly exhausted as they waited for the crowd ahead to move.
The sight of hundreds of trekkers inching their way up the hill during the school holidays struck a chord with netizens, garnering more than 210,000 views within a short time.
Many were quick to poke fun at the unusual scene, noting that Malaysia’s famed traffic woes had now reached the outdoors.
One commenter wrote: “This needs to be limited … the environment will be damaged, flora and fauna will be disturbed.”
Others, however, highlighted Perlis’s growing popularity as a holiday spot highlighting the variety of food options around the northern state.
