PAS will hold its 75th anniversary celebration in Penang next year, where the party was first registered in 1951.
“We will shake Penang, and also DAP,” its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said at the party’s 71st muktamar here today, drawing cheers from delegates.
Takiyuddin also said the next PAS muktamar is likely to be held in Kelantan.
He reminded delegates that they had a limited amount of time to debate on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s keynote address and that those who did not get the chance could still speak on it at the state and divisional levels.
Takiyuddin reminded PAS members not to hand ammunition to the party’s rivals by airing their frustrations against the party online.
“Don’t go running to Facebook saying you didn’t get to speak (at the muktamar) … the only ones who benefit are our enemies.
“Our real fight is at the next general election (GE16), not among ourselves,” he said, calling for unity and discipline as the party prepares for the nationwide polls.
He also reminded members that non-Muslim citizens of any faith were now welcome to join PAS as associate members.
