ALOR STAR: Pas has the right to propose its intention to lead Perikatan Nasional (PN) and name its own prime minister candidate, said PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The former prime minister and Bersatu president said the matter would ultimately be discussed and decided by PN’s Presidential Council.
“Each party makes its announcements at their own assemblies,” Muhyiddin told reporters after attending the 71st Pas Muktamar today.
“I have already informed Tan Sri (Abdul Hadi Awang) that we will call a supreme council meeting to discuss and decide on this, likely within the next week.”
Muhyiddin also dismissed claims of tension between the parties, saying ties between Pas and Bersatu were strong.
