SEOUL: South Korea‘s finance minister said on Monday he believed the US was reviewing any decision on setting up a currency swap line between the two countries.
“I think the US will contemplate over it,” Minister Koo Yun-cheol said on the sidelines of an event in Seoul, when asked by Reuters about media reports of a South Korean request to set up a swap line.
His ministry said on Sunday it was in talks with the US to minimise any impact on the dollar-won market from a US$350 billion investment package in US industries that is part of a trade deal between the countries.
