KAJANG: A 58-year-old man was found dead near Jalan Bukit Enggang, Sungai Long, this morning, believed to have collapsed while hiking alone in the area.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that the Kajang district police headquarters received a call from a member of the public around 8.01am, alerting authorities to the sighting of a man lying motionless by the roadside.
Officers from the Sungai Long police station and a medical team from Kajang Hospital were immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was a local man, self-employed, and believed to be hiking alone in the area,” the police said in a statement.
“He was found fully clothed, with a walking stick and his mobile phone next to him. No signs of foul play were found at the scene.”
The body was transported to Kajang Hospital for a post-mortem, which confirmed that the cause of death was a blocked coronary artery, indicating a sudden cardiac event.
The case has been classified as a Sudden Death.
