SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — Police are looking into a fight between two motorists at a traffic light junction along Persiaran Batu Nilam in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, last Thursday (September 11) that went viral on social media.
South Klang deputy police chief Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah said they received a report from a man, 39, at 4.52pm the same day, alleging that another man had injured him following a road rage incident at about 1.13pm.
“The complainant, who was driving a Honda City, had stopped behind a Proton Gen 2 at the traffic light. Suddenly, the Proton Gen 2 reversed and collided with the front of the complainant’s car.
“After that, a man and a woman exited their car, and an argument erupted in front of the complainant’s vehicle. The driver of the Proton Gen 2 then grabbed the complainant by the neck, resulting in a scuffle between them until passersby intervened,” he said in a statement, adding that the complainant sustained minor injuries to his legs, hands, and neck and was subsequently treated at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang.
He urged those with information regarding the incident to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the South Klang district police headquarters at 03-33762222 to assist the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury, which carries a penalty of up to one year’s imprisonment and a fine. — Bernama
