KUALA TERENGGANU: Awareness of integrity should not be conveyed solely through formal channels but must also be promoted in ways that are fresh, engaging and relevant to people’s daily lives.
Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar said initiatives such as Larian ERAT Malaysia demonstrated how messages of integrity could be brought closer to the community.
“The run, themed ‘Integriti Dijulang, Negara Bermaruah’, is more than just a sporting event. It represents togetherness, mutual support and celebrating each step taken. Every stride is not only about reaching the finishing line but also about cultivating discipline, resilience and responsibility — values that underpin integrity and identity in life.
“Through this run, the EAIC seeks to nurture integrity in a fresh and accessible way, so that awareness is not treated as a heavy subject but something that can be practised and understood in everyday life,” he told reporters after the Larian ERAT Malaysia at Dataran Batu Buruk here last night.
At the event, Ismail also launched the EAIC’s new logo and a public service announcement (PSA) in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas). The PSA will be broadcast across various media platforms to promote integrity and the prevention of misconduct.
He said the new logo and PSA formed part of the EAIC’s rebranding exercise announced on Aug 8.
“It is aimed at strengthening the EAIC’s image as an institution that proactively promotes integrity, enhances public understanding and encourages community involvement in addressing misconduct,” he said.
Ismail said that the EAIC remained committed to strengthening integrity awareness to ensure transparency and accountability in enforcement agency services, for the benefit of the people and the nation.
The one-day programme, organised by the EAIC in collaboration with the Terengganu State Secretary’s Office, the Terengganu Road Transport Department (RTD) and the Terengganu Strategic & Integrity Institute (TSIS), drew about 1,000 participants.
Various activities were also held, including exhibitions, interactive ‘pocket talk’ sessions, Rahmah Sales, and educational and awareness-based activities to ensure the message of integrity reached all participants. — BERNAMA
