IPOH: Police have reclassified the discovery of a body wrapped in cloth near an Orang Asli cemetery in Kampung Kerawat, along Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands, as a murder case.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the decision followed a post-mortem conducted today at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensic unit.
“The victim was an adult male, but his identity has yet to be determined.
“The post-mortem revealed he died from injuries caused by a blunt object.
“No arrests have been made so far, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said when contacted today.
Yesterday, Abang Zainal Abidin said in a statement that a 28-year-old local man lodged a report after villagers informed him of the discovery.
