MMA picks Dr Sivanaesan as president-elect ahead of 2026 presidency


KUALA LUMPUR: Dr L. Sivanaesan has been elected as the new president-elect of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).

In the MMA elections held in August, members from across Malaysia placed their trust in Dr Sivanaesan to lead the fraternity.

He will serve one year as president-elect before assuming the role of president in 2026.

“I will be shouldering the heaviest responsibility of my career,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Dr Sivanaesan’s journey with the MMA began as a student member and over the years, he has served in multiple key roles, including exco member in Perak MMA, exco and state chairman of MMA and chairman of the National Private Practitioners Section and two terms as MMA honorary deputy secretary.
