PETALING JAYA: A man has been arrested by Bukit Aman for a video allegedly containing seditious elements and insults against the King and other rulers on social media.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk M. Kumar, in a statement on Saturday (Sept 13), said that the 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday (Sept 12).
“Checks found that the man has a criminal record involving three criminal cases and one drug-related case,” he said.
He added that the police will not compromise with any individual who misuses social media platforms to spread seditious statements, insults or any form of provocation that could disrupt public order and national security.
“The public is advised to be more responsible when using social media and to always respect the laws,” he said.
