MELAKA, Sept 13 (Bernama)– This year’s state-level Maulidur Rasul celebration in Melaka attracted over 30,000 visitors, who took part in more than 30 religious programmes during the Karnival Semarak Cinta Rasul, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
He stated that the success of the four-day carnival demonstrates the public’s strong support in strengthening Islamic values and fostering a deep love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“Highlights of this year’s celebration included Melaka Bermunajat and the Astronomy Community Gathering, where more than 200 Muslims performed the non-obligatory eclipse prayer on Sept 7 and 8.
“Alhamdulillah, the community’s continued support encourages the state government to step up religious programmes that guide people towards noble values, strengthen unity, and deepen love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” he said here last night.
He was speaking earlier at the Melaka Berselawat ceremony and the Maulidur Rasul 1447H Special Awards presentation, which was graced by the Melaka Governor, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, and Tunku Besar of Tampin, Tunku Syed Razman Ibni Almarhum Tunku Syed Idrus Al Qadri.
Six award categories were presented, including Best Mosque Management and Administration (Masjid Al-Muhaimin, Bemban); Best Surau Management and Administration (Madrasah An-Nur, Taman Muhibbah, Merlimau); and Best Islamic Cemetery Management and Preservation (Pusara Abadi, Masjid Al-Rahmah, Bukit Rambai).
The Best Private Islamic Educational Institution (IPIS) Management and Administration award went to Imtiaz Ulul Albab Secondary School, Masjid Tanah; Best Mosque/Surau Cooperative was awarded to Masjid Al-Alami Cooperative, MITC, Ayer Keroh; while the Halal Certification Holder (SME) for Melaka went to Pak Man Industries Sdn Bhd.
Ab Rauf expressed hope that the recognition would motivate religious institutions to keep improving governance, strengthen unity, and deliver better services for the well-being of the ummah.
