The PAS Youth wing has unanimously passed a motion calling on the party to take charge of Perikatan Nasional and assume the country’s top leadership posts.
The motion, proposed by PAS Youth information chief Nadzir Helmi, was one of four approved at the youth wing’s assembly and will be presented at the PAS general assembly.
A strong call to support Palestine, a motion to protect state rights over rare earth elements and another rejecting the proposed Urban Renewal Bill were also approved.
Seven of the 11 motions debated today were rejected.
When tabling the motion earlier today, Nadzir said it sends a clear message of confidence in PAS to guide the country through PN.
“This motion is key and must be heard. We have heard our youth chief’s call. This is the time. PAS must lead PN. Agree? This is the time PAS must lead the nation. Let it be taken up to the central muktamar. We must be bold,” he said.
