KUALA LUMPUR: NCT Group, together with Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL), has spotlighted Malaysia’s smart city aspirations on the global stage with its smart industrial park at the Tomorrow City Shanghai 2025 Conference.
The conference, held from Sept 1-7, convened policymakers, industry leaders, academics and innovators from over 25 countries.
The event focused on urban development challenges and solutions, with an emphasis on sustainable, tech-enabled cities of the future.
Malaysia’s national delegation featured NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) as a flagship model of future-ready development, being the country’s first certified Managed Industrial Park.
The joint showcase by NCT Group and MPKL highlighted NSIP’s integration of ESG principles, Industry 4.0 applications and smart infrastructure.
It is aimed at setting new benchmarks in Asean’s industrial and urban transformation.
“We are truly honoured and proud that NSIP was selected to represent Malaysia,” said Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy, founder and group managing director of NCT Group.
“This recognition affirms our ambition to drive industrial and urban transformation on a global scale. NSIP is just the beginning.”
Yap added that future projects like NCT Innosphere in Kedah will continue advancing its mission of building smart, green and innovative ecosystems.
MPKL president Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said the participation reflects Malaysia’s strengthened commitment to smart city development and innovation.
“By showcasing pioneering projects like NSIP, we demonstrate Malaysia’s readiness to embrace innovation and global collaboration.
“This paves the way for Kuala Langat and the nation to evolve into a hub where smart urban solutions and industrial growth converge,” he added.
Located in the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), NSIP is positioned to catalyse the next wave of Malaysia’s smart industrial development.
With a focus on sustainable practices, bankable infrastructure and digital transformation, the park aims to attract high-value investments and contribute to Malaysia’s smart city roadmap.
