KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MHB) has announced the resignation of director Wan Yusoff Wan Hamat, ending a five-year tenure on the board.
In filings with Bursa Malaysia, the offshore and marine engineering group said Wan Yusoff, 72, stepped down effective today, citing personal commitments.
He also relinquished his roles as chairman of the nomination and remuneration committee, and member of the board sustainability and risk committee.
Wan Yusoff joined MHB’s board on Sept 15, 2020, as an independent non-executive director.
A seasoned engineer with more than four decades of experience in the oil, gas and marine sectors, he previously held senior positions at Petroliam Nasional Bhd, including project leadership for major refinery and petrochemical developments.
He was managing director and chief executive officer of Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd and its listed parent, MHB, from 2004 to 2011, before heading the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development project in Pengerang.
Wan Yusoff holds 10,000 shares in MHB and 5,000 shares in Petronas Gas Bhd, the filing showed.
MHB said there were no disagreements between Wan Yusoff and the board, nor any matters that required shareholders’ attention in relation to his resignation.
