NEW YORK, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.26 percent to 97.529 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1736 dollars from 1.1705 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.3579 dollars from 1.3536 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 147.18 Japanese yen, lower than 147.33 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar slipped to 0.7956 Swiss francs from 0.7989 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3837 Canadian dollars from 1.3861 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.3090 Swedish kronor from 9.3521 Swedish kronor.
