CXF 2025 Gives Exposure To Creative Industry For TVET Students

ARAU, Sept 11 (Bernama) — The inaugural Creative Xperience Festival (CXF) 2025, held this year, serves as a platform to provide exposure to the needs and developments of the creative industry in the country for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.

Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said that the students were not only exposed to the real-world environment of the creative industry but also able to understand how creativity and technology can be combined to support national development.

“This effort is in line with the government’s desire to elevate the creative industry, which is part of the orange economy sector, as one of the new drivers of national development in the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13),” he told reporters after officiating the festival at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Polytechnic (PTSS) here today.

The three-day festival, organised by the Curriculum Division of the Department of Polytechnic and Community Colleges Education (JPPKK), in collaboration with the Professional Film Workers Association of Malaysia (PROFIMA), started today. The theme is ‘Mengilham Warisan, Meneroka Dunia Digital’.

At the opening ceremony, Mustapha also witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between PTSS, Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan (PIS) and Politeknik Muadzam Shah (PMS), with 12 industry players as a symbolic commitment to comprehensive cooperation.

According to Mustapha, the creative industry is now increasingly in need of highly skilled workers, especially with the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Therefore, the younger generation needs to be nurtured with the right creativity to be competitive with their peers internationally.

He also said his ministry would evaluate the effectiveness of the festival for consideration of its continued organisation in the future, thus ensuring that TVET students receive more comprehensive benefits from exposure to the creative industry.

The festival brings together polytechnic students and lecturers from across the country, as well as academic figures and creative industry practitioners, with activities such as industry workshops, film and animation screenings, creative arts competitions, and the PROFIMA Awards Night.
