KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Irfan Haris has revealed how his sister, singer Amira Othman, first met popular actor Fattah Amin at a concert for national songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza on Dec 14 last year.
According to Irfan, after their initial meeting, Fattah took the significant step of meeting their family, proving his sincerity and serious intentions.
“I think they first met at Siti’s concert. What amazed me was that ‘Abang Fattah’ himself chose to meet our family. That’s a real man—when he wants to get to know someone, he meets their parents first. In fact, he met not only my parents but all my family members,” Irfan said during a TikTok live broadcast.
Irfan also admitted he was disappointed that he could not attend the meeting due to a prior performance commitment.
However, he expressed pride in Fattah’s approach, which he described as very gentlemanly.
During the same live session, Irfan shared that Amira and Fattah’s relationship grew closer after Amira contacted Fattah’s manager to discuss a potential music collaboration.
From there, the actor took the initiative to reach out to Amira.
Irfan said that he and his brothers all agreed that Fattah was a good man and a suitable partner for their sister.
“After Abang Fattah made his solo comeback last year, we saw a lot of his appearances on social media. The way he spoke was calm; he seemed kind and mature,” he said.
“My brothers and I agreed that he was a good man. So we supported my sister in getting to know him. It just so happened that at the time, my sister was still single.”
Their relationship reportedly became stronger when Amira and Fattah collaborated on the song ‘Bila Nak Kahwin’ (When Will You Marry?).
“I contacted Aca, Fattah’s manager, who was in Makkah performing Umrah at the time. From there, Fattah first began sending messages,” he said.
The news follows Fattah’s surprise announcement that he would be marrying Amira this Sunday.
The actor made the announcement during the launch of Amira and Irfan’s duet song ‘Rasa & Takdir’ (Feelings & Fate) on Sept 8.
