A former school principal pleaded not guilty to two charges of criminal breach of trust involving more than RM16,000 in donations.
Nor Aidah Baba, 54, entered the plea after the two charges were read before judge Nasir Nordin at the Shah Alam sessions court, reported Bernama.
Nor Aidah was charged with using RM16,525.45 of MyKasih Foundation’s funds for her own use while heading a primary school in Pulau Carey, Kuala Langat, between December 2020 and January 2021.
She allegedly committed the offences at the school on Dec 3, 2020, and outside a bank in Telok Panglima Garang on Jan 11, 2021.
If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in jail, whipping, and a fine under Section 409 of the Penal Code.
The court set bail at RM5,000 with one surety and ordered her to report monthly to the Selangor MACC office and surrender her passport. Case mention has been fixed for Oct 14.
MACC deputy public prosecutor Asmaa’ Zamri appeared for the prosecution while lawyer Nur Fadhilah Zainuddin represented Nor Aidah.
Established in 2009, MyKasih Foundation is an NGO that provides welfare aid to low-income families through a cashless distribution system.
It runs programmes such as food aid, school meals, bursaries, and community development initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and supporting education.
