SHAH ALAM: A former headmistress pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to two charges of criminal breach of trust involving more than RM16,000 in donation funds between 2020 and 2021.
Nor Aidah Baba, 54, entered the plea after the two charges were read before Judge Datuk Mohd Nasir Nordin.
According to the charges, Nor Aidah, who was then the headmistress of a primary school in Pulau Carey, Kuala Langat, committed criminal breach of trust involving MyKasih Foundation donations amounting to RM16,525.45 by using the funds for her own purposes.
The offences were allegedly committed in stages at the school on Dec 3, 2020, and in front of a bank branch in Telok Panglima Garang on Jan 11, 2021.
If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison, whipping, and a fine under Section 409 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution was led by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy public prosecutor Asmaa’ Zamri, while the accused was represented by lawyer Nur Fadhilah Zainuddin.
The court set bail at RM5,000 with one surety, and ordered the accused to report to the Selangor MACC office once a month and surrender her passport to the court.
Mention has been fixed for Oct 14. – BERNAMA
