ISKANDAR PUTERI, Sept 11 — The Johor government today unveiled 42 initiatives with a combined allocation of more than RM209 million.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the programme will help 1.9 million beneficiaries across the state.
“The initiatives are aimed to support various groups in the state, such as farmers, fishermen, e-hailing drivers, veterans, single mothers, undergraduates, examination candidates and the elderly.
“This is proof that revenue growth is not just about numbers. It is about how every Johorean feels the impact of it in their daily lives,” he said at the Johor state assembly in Kota Iskandar.
Of the 42 initiatives, 25 are specifically designed to ease the cost of living for the people.
Onn Hafiz, who is also the Machap assemblyman, was responding to a question from Kota Iskandar assemblyman Datuk Pandak Ahmad, who asked how the state government plans to assist needy Johoreans in coping with rising living costs.
