KUALA LUMPUR: The government has confirmed that the website caghi.com, which allegedly sells personal data, has been blocked since June 2022, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had taken action against the site more than two years ago, but authorities are still gathering details on the individuals behind it.
“MCMC has been in contact with service providers to obtain more information about those responsible for the website.
“What I can confirm is that the site was blocked by MCMC in June 2022. For more detailed and up-to-date information, the public can refer to MCMC directly,” he told reporters today.
The minister added that there has been no confirmation regarding the status of the data allegedly held by the site.
However, checks by the press today showed that the website remains accessible.
