KOTA KINABALU: The fourth day of the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir is expected to hear testimony from two medical doctors.
One of the witnesses is a medical officer from the Emergency and Trauma Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital here, while the other is a doctor from the hospital’s Neurosurgery Department.
Yesterday, the Coroner’s Court also said that staff from the school where Zara was studying are expected to be called in today.
Since the 17-day inquest began on Sept 3, two witnesses have testified before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan.
The first was forensic pathologist Dr Jessie Hiu, who presented her post-mortem findings on the 13-year-old student.
Dr Hiu, who testified over two days, stated that Zara’s injuries were consistent with a fall from a height and ruled out any signs of assault.
The second witness, Nurul Atiqah Mohd Noh, a document examiner, testified that the handwriting in some exhibits matched Zara’s.
