NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.32 percent to 97.454 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro added to 1.1761 dollars from 1.1719 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3553 dollars from 1.3509 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 147.46 Japanese yen, higher than 147.36 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar slipped to 0.7933 Swiss francs from 0.7982 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3814 Canadian dollars from 1.3848 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.3586 Swedish kronor from 9.3851 Swedish kronor.
