SHAH ALAM: Reminding delegates that they are with Bersatu of their own volition, party secretary-general Datuk Seri Azmin Ali called on members to come together to strengthen the party.
“Bersatu was not born in the palace, but it was the brainchild of (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin) when he was sacked from the government, and he resolved that he would raise the plight of the Malays.
“We are not forced to be at this party. We joined this party out of conscience, and we are confident that this is the best way forward for Malays and Malaysians in the future.
“We are here because there are not many who dare to join this party. It is easier to join PKR.
“The Malays have now realised that it is not Umno or PKR which will save them but Bersatu,” said Azmin in his winding-up speech at the party general assembly on Sunday (Sept 7).
Azmin said that when Muhyiddin was the prime minister, he had successfully managed the Covid-19 pandemic.
“He had managed to bring Malaysia out of the pandemic safely.
“This is why the current government is jealous and they want us to break up,” he told the delegates.
