Sivasangari moves up to No. 9 in latest world rankings


KUALA LUMPUR: Asian champion S. Sivasangari has climbed back into the women’s world top 10, moving up two spots to No. 9 in the latest PSA Tour world rankings released on Monday.

The 26-year-old earned valuable ranking points after finishing runner-up to world No. 1 Nouran Gohar of Egypt at the Grasshopper Cup in Zurich on Sunday.

Sivasangari’s highest-ever ranking was No. 7 after she clinched the Cincinnati Cup title in February.

Compatriot Rachel Arnold moved up one spot to No. 19 after reaching the Squash On Fire Open final, where she was defeated by world No. 10 Amanda Sobhy of the United States.

In the men’s rankings, Ng Eain Yow, who was runner-up at the Squash On Fire Open, maintained his No. 10 ranking.
